Reporting Procedures
Importance of Reporting
At the Student Safety Council, we take every concern seriously. Whether it's a safety issue, harassment, discrimination, or mental health concern, reporting helps keep our community secure and supported.
Anonymous Reporting
We understand that coming forward can feel difficult. That's why we provide the option to report anonymously through the app or web form. Anonymous reports are taken seriously and reviewed with equal care.
When to Report
Please report any of the following:
- Unsafe or hazardous conditions (e.g. broken lights, unsafe stairwells)
- Bullying, harassment, or discrimination
- Suspicious behaviour or threats
- Mental health or wellbeing concerns for yourself or someone else
If you're unsure whether something should be reported—report it. It's always better to be safe.
How to Report
You can report incidents in several ways:
1. Student Safety App
Via the Student Safety App (launching soon) – Includes anonymous reporting options and real-time alerts for effective and easy to report incidents.
2. Email or Call
Email or call your campus safety officer – Every educational institution should have an emergency or safety contact. If you are not sure, follow the step below.
3. Trusted Staff Member
Speak to a trusted member of staff – Teachers, support staff, or mentors can help escalate your concern. It's always best practise to let any member of staff know, and they will guide you.
4. Physical Forms
Use physical reporting forms – These should be available in main office or campus security points. All reports are handled confidentially and in line with safeguarding policies.
